This was a HUGE full-sized sheet cake that fed over 100 people. It took two strong men to carry it, and I bought a slab of lumber for stability under the cake. Decorating a cake this size presents a whole new set of challenges, but I thought it was pretty good for my first time. Half the cake is chocolate, and half the cake is vanilla covered in vanilla buttercream frosting! The roses are made with buttercream icing covering a Hershey's kiss. Very yummy!
One of my favorite activities is creating beautiful cakes for special occasions! Please browse the site and e-mail me if I can help make your next event extra-special with a custom creation.

Valentine's Day Cupcakes
Valentine's Day Cake
I made this Valentine's Day cake as a project for my latest Wilton fondant class! Inside, it is a delicate German chocolate cake with vanilla buttercream icing. My dad absolutely loved this cake. Since I made this cake while I was visiting my family in south Louisiana, I had some trouble with the fondant. The humidity got to the bow a little...I know in the future to let it dry a little longer in a high humidity area!

Cupcake-Themed Birthday Cake
Christmas Cakes
I was happy to create a few special cakes for Todd's faculty Christmas luncheon this year! Instead of one big cake, I wanted to give everyone some flavor choices.
The small poinsettia cake is yellow with almond buttercream. I put some edible glitter on the fondant poinsettia to
make it sparkley!

The present cake with the red bow is red velvet cake with cream cheese icing. It is covered in fondant wrapping paper with hand-painted snowflakes.
The cupcakes are also red velvet with cream cheese icing. Each one has a small royal icing holly leaf with red hots as berries.
The large Merry Christmas cake is devil's food with chocolate-espresso buttercream filling. It is covered with fondant and decorated with fondant balls and polka dots.

Fleur de Lis Cake
It was quite yummy and a big hit at the party! Best of all, the birthday girl (an avid Saints fan and true Cajun) loved it!
